End of the
year PARTY! It was great to see all the smiling faces
again as it has been three weeks since our last games.
Once everyone was seated we opened the gates to the food and
drinks. A few parents brought their favorite dishes to
share. The food was delicious. We had more food
than we could all eat. Each player received a trophy
from their coach while the audience cheered. There was a
newspaper reporter taking pictures and interviewing players.
Our dedicated Buddies and true angels in the outfield were
all given buddy trophies for their help. The coaches
were next. Our coaches this year were awesome.
The time, effort and love these coaches gave to each player
was priceless. We will always be grateful to them.
The coaches received plaques and big cheers from the league.
The league would like to thank Corbin's family and friends
for selling the most candles this season. Way to go
girl!! Levi's mother baked away for our bake sale that
was a hit. The fundraisers we had this season
surpassed last year totals. Thank you to everyone who
helped. One last big thank you to Oak Crest
church for allowing us to use Herman Hall. If I missed
anything please let me know and I will add it. |

Today was our last game of the season. The fans were cheering like crazy and they loved it. The field was half blue and half red. Sounds of the Indian's "hey batter batter" turned to the familiar "woo woo woo woo chant". The Reds weren't intimidated and belted plenty of good hits. Not to be out done the Indians responded with a hitting barrage of their own. Numerous players provided excellent fielding to keep the score close. Stolen bases by Melissa, Ronnie, Corbin, and Vincent gave the pitchers the added pressure to keep one eye on the catcher for signs and one on the runners. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. Photos from these games can be viewed in the photo gallery. |

We still have a bunch of players vacationing so we focused today on lots of batting. Everyone had multiple hits per inning and had lots of fun. I am proud to say that our overall batting has improved each week. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. Photos from these games can be viewed in the photo gallery. |

Due to many player vacations we had to combine both games into one game. We tried to contact each player and their family Friday but could not reach everyone. I apologize for doing this at the last minute and for any inconvenience this may have caused. Since I was not personally at the game we do not have a game summary, however we do have photos. If anyone would like to tell me what happened I will gladly post it here. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. Photos from this game can be viewed in the photo gallery. |

Our first game started with a player vs coaches challenge with the winner taking home bragging rights. Melissa, always a sure hit, got two doubles, a triple and a single. Doug and Chris both cleared the bases with great hits. Zach stole every base three times and won a foot race to home scoring the go ahead run. Vincent kept his hitting streak alive with a pair of singles and doubles. After battling for a long hour and some change the players surged ahead in the last inning to win. Game two provided us with yet another fantastic display of hitting. Cal, Justin and Joey smashed base hits while Austin got several more extra base hits. Corbin, James V. and Jalon all had great hits of their own through the infield. Lead by Levi, the defense was awesome. Jarrett, Ronnie and Brian got some timely outs with good catching and throwing. Everyone made numerous plays and did a great job. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. Photos from this game can be viewed in the photo gallery. |

Wow, what a hot day. Let's start with the first game. Doug & Chris stole almost every base, despite the coaches best efforts to get them out and would have stole 1st if they didn't have to bat. Melissa added to the stolen base count by stealing third base twice. Patrick hit a high fly ball into left field and rounded the bases, out running coach Norris to the plate, for his second homer of the day. Doug woke coach Norris up in a hurry with a blazing line drive back to the pitcher. The 2nd game was just as eventful. Jaylon tomahawk chopped a hit through the infield and took off running. Corbin stole second easily when the pitcher coach John wasn't looking. Justin, Austin and Nick had nice solid hits into the outfield. Cal and Ronnie both had a pair of hits and turned on the speed around the bases. Everyone made numerous plays and did a great job. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. Another great day for baseball. Every player had a good batting day. Patrick, Nick, Cal, Justin, Chad, Austin and Patrick, to name a few, pounded hits into the outfield. Chris and Doug both worked out of pickles at third to score. Joey, Andy and Ronnie displayed awesome base running skills. Levi showed off his throwing while Amanda, Vincent and Melissa tightened the defense. Everyone made numerous plays and did a great job. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. |

The sun was out and so were the bats. Doug Fry belted a homerun to left center field for his first homerun of the season. Joey Cape had a few great extra base hits of his own. James Veasey caught a hard hit line drive that was sure to be al least a double to the fence. Chris Wright powered his first hit through the infield for a easy double. Levi Ayres hit a laser of a shot down the 3rd base line for extra bases. Justin Hudson showed off some nice fielding and throwing skill. Jarrett Hurston worked behind the plate as catcher. Everyone made numerous plays and did a great job. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. |

Another great game by both teams. We saw Jaylon and Jarrett hit homeruns. James Russell got back to back hits through the infield for extra bases. Leanne added to her hit streak and burned up the base path. Austin displayed his fielding skills by easily snagging a hard grounder then throwing to first. Ronnie extended his own hit streak by crushing hits thru to the outfield. Chris, Jaylon, and Andrew worked behind the plate as catcher. Each made numerous plays and did a great job. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. |

Minutes before the game Amanda, Michael and Andrew anxiously joined our league becoming our newest players. Justin and Leanne hit a pair of doubles in left center gap. Chad, always a good batter, showed his power with some great hitting. Levi is one of our strongest at throwing. He can throw a ball from 3rd to 1st base with ease, now that's impressive. Doug wore off some shoe rubber running just about everywhere. A few times he ran from the outfield all the way to home plate to single handedly make an out. We had so much fun! We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. |

Today was a great day for baseball. Not too hot and not too cold. James Veasey hit another homerun, this time a line shot over left center, bouncing off the grass berm and a windshield. Joshua, Joey and Cal all hit the ball hard and beat the throw to first base. With big smiles, Corbin and Melissa showed the boys how to get around the bases. Austin dug deep in the batter's box and hit two sharp line drives through the infield. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. |

It's time for baseball again. There were lots of familiar faces and some new ones for our 2008 spring season opening day. With the dust freshly brushed off the bats, everyone had a good time. James Veasey hit a towering shot to deep center field. The ball finally stopped rolling when it hit a car tire. The seasoned tag team of Patrick and Zachary were both burning up the base paths. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for your support. We would also like to thank Lesa Godbold, Gina Ayers and Teri Hanson for our bake sale that raised a little over one hundred dollars. |
